Forklift Driver (Counterbalance)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Driver with a Counterbalance license to join their dynamic warehouse team in Portsmouth . This role is essential for the efficient movement of goods within the warehouse, ensuring materials are stored correctly and safely relocated for dispatch. You will be responsible for operating forklift trucks in a safe and efficient manner, adhering strictly to all safety guidelines and company procedures. This is a key position for maintaining workflow and ensuring operational continuity within the busy logistics hub.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a counterbalance forklift truck safely and efficiently to move, load, unload, and store materials.
• Perform pre-operation checks on the forklift to ensure it is in safe working order and report any defects.
• Transport goods within the warehouse, ensuring they are stacked and stored correctly and securely.
• Assist with receiving and dispatching operations, verifying goods against documentation.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring clear access for other machinery and personnel.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies relating to forklift operation and warehouse activities.

Requirements

• Valid and in-date Counterbalance Forklift certification.
• Proven experience operating forklift trucks in a warehouse or industrial environment.
• Good understanding of warehouse operations and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Physically capable of performing associated warehouse duties when not operating the forklift, based in Portsmouth .
