Forklift Driver

About the Role

Our client requires a certified and experienced Forklift Driver to join their logistics team in Plymouth . You will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse, load and unload delivery vehicles, and assist with inventory management. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth and safe operation of the warehouse floor, ensuring that goods are handled correctly and efficiently at all times. A commitment to safety and adherence to operational procedures are paramount.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., counter-balance, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload goods from trucks and containers, ensuring proper stacking and securing.
• Move and organize inventory within the warehouse, maintaining clear and accessible storage areas.
• Assist with stocktaking and inventory counts as required.
• Perform daily checks on forklift equipment and report any defects or maintenance needs immediately.
• Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and site-specific procedures.

Requirements

• Valid forklift truck operator license (RTITB, ITSSAR, or equivalent).
• Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Good understanding of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately, often under time pressure.
• Physical fitness and ability to lift items as needed.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
