Location: Northampton, NN4 Salary: £28,000 – £38,000 per annum, depending on experience Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm Break: 30 minutes unpaid Contract: Full-time, Permanent Start: Immediate start available Holiday: 22 days + Bank Holidays Overtime: Available Forklift Engineer – Northampton Quest Employment are recruiting for an experienced Forklift Engineer / Forklift Service Engineer to join a well-established operation based in Northampton, NN4. This is a permanent opportunity offering stable Monday-to-Friday hours, a salary of up to £38,000 depending on experience, overtime opportunities and long-term career stability . We are particularly interested in engineers with experience servicing, maintaining and repairing forklift trucks, FLTs or Material Handling Equipment (MHE) .

The Role

You will be responsible for: Servicing, maintaining and repairing forklift trucks and MHE Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and routine inspections Attending breakdowns and completing repairs efficiently Identifying damaged or worn components and completing necessary repairs Ensuring equipment is safe, operational and ready for use Completing service and maintenance records accurately Reporting faults, damage and safety concerns Working independently and alongside the wider engineering team Following all company Health & Safety procedures What We're Looking For Ideally, you will have previous experience as a: Forklift Engineer / Forklift Technician / FLT Engineer / MHE Engineer / Forklift Service Engineer Experience working with any combination of diesel, LPG, electric, counterbalance, reach trucks or other MHE would be highly desirable. You should also have: Strong mechanical fault-finding skills Experience servicing and repairing mechanical equipment Basic electrical fault-finding knowledge Confidence diagnosing breakdowns A practical, hands-on approach Ability to work independently Good communication and organisational skills A reliable and professional attitude A desire for a stable, long-term position Candidates from plant engineering, agricultural machinery, HGV, automotive or similar mechanical backgrounds may also be considered where they have strong transferable servicing and fault-finding experience.
