Formulation Development Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Formulation Development Scientist to join their innovative product development division in Southampton . This role is central to the creation of new pharmaceutical products, focusing on designing stable, effective, and patient-friendly formulations. You will utilize your scientific expertise to overcome formulation challenges and contribute to the entire product lifecycle, from concept to commercialization. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize novel formulations for various dosage forms (e.g., oral, injectable, topical).
• Conduct pre-formulation studies to understand drug substance properties and excipient compatibility.
• Design and execute experiments to evaluate formulation stability, dissolution, and performance.
• Characterize formulations using analytical techniques such as particle size analysis, microscopy, and spectroscopy.
• Collaborate with analytical development, process development, and project management teams.
• Document experimental procedures, results, and conclusions in comprehensive reports suitable for regulatory submissions.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Proficiency with a range of formulation techniques and analytical instrumentation.
• Understanding of drug delivery principles and biopharmaceutics .
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team in Hampshire .
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and presentations.
