Formulation Scientist - Solid Dosage Forms

About the Role

Our client, a pioneering pharmaceutical company, is looking for a talented Formulation Scientist to join their fully remote development team, working remotely from Manchester or any UK location. This role is integral to the design, development, and optimization of innovative solid dosage formulations for a wide range of pharmaceutical products. You will leverage your deep understanding of formulation science, material properties, and manufacturing processes to bring new therapies from concept to market. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize solid dosage formulations (tablets, capsules, powders) considering bioavailability, stability, and manufacturability.
• Conduct pre-formulation studies, including excipient compatibility and material characterization.
• Design and execute experiments to evaluate drug release profiles, dissolution testing, and other critical quality attributes.
• Investigate and troubleshoot formulation and manufacturing challenges, implementing effective solutions.
• Collaborate closely with analytical development, process chemistry, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless technology transfer.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation, including formulation development reports and regulatory submission documents.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in pharmaceutical formulation development, specifically with solid dosage forms .
• In-depth knowledge of excipient science, drug delivery systems, and relevant analytical techniques.
• Experience with statistical design of experiments (DoE) and data analysis.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements for drug product development and manufacturing.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to scientific challenges in a remote setting .
