About the Role
Our client is looking for a creative and skilled Formulation Scientist to join their cutting-edge research and development team in Brighton . In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing pharmaceutical formulations for novel drug products. You will work with various dosage forms, employing advanced scientific techniques to ensure product efficacy, stability, and bioavailability. This hybrid role allows for a blend of laboratory work and remote data analysis/reporting, fostering a productive and flexible environment for scientific innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop innovative pharmaceutical formulations for various dosage forms (e.g., oral, injectable, topical).
- Conduct pre-formulation studies, including solubility, stability, and compatibility assessments.
- Optimize formulations to achieve desired pharmacokinetic profiles, stability, and manufacturability.
- Perform analytical testing to characterize formulations and evaluate their performance.
- Prepare detailed reports, present findings, and contribute to regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including analytical development, process development, and CMC.
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
- Expertise in drug delivery systems and various dosage forms.
- Proficiency in formulation development techniques and analytical methods (e.g., HPLC, dissolution testing).
- Strong understanding of GMP principles and regulatory requirements for drug product development.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
