About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative Formulation Scientist to join their dedicated research and development team in Bradford . This role is central to the development of novel drug delivery systems and optimized pharmaceutical formulations that enhance therapeutic efficacy and patient compliance. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing formulations from early-stage development through to scale-up, working with a variety of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). The ideal candidate possesses strong scientific acumen, practical laboratory skills, and a passion for creating next-generation pharmaceutical products, contributing to advancements in medicine from their base in Bradford .
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop stable and effective pharmaceutical formulations (e.g., tablets, capsules, injectables, topical preparations).
- Conduct pre-formulation studies to understand API properties and compatibility.
- Perform laboratory-scale formulation development, optimization, and characterization studies.
- Develop and validate analytical methods for assessing formulation performance and stability.
- Collaborate with process development and manufacturing teams for successful technology transfer and scale-up.
- Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory requirements in pharmaceutical formulation.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development .
- Hands-on experience with various dosage forms and drug delivery systems.
- Proficiency in analytical techniques commonly used in formulation development (e.g., dissolution, particle size analysis, rheology).
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and GMP principles.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and scientific creativity.
