Formulation Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative Formulation Scientist to join their drug product development team. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to contribute to the design and development of novel pharmaceutical formulations, working both remotely and from our Portsmouth facility. You will be involved in the pre-formulation studies, formulation design, and optimization of various dosage forms. This is a key role in translating drug candidates into effective and safe medicinal products, driving innovation in drug delivery systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-formulation studies to characterize drug substances and excipients.
• Design, develop, and optimize formulations for various dosage forms (e.g., tablets, capsules, injectables).
• Perform stability studies and analyze data to assess product shelf-life and performance.
• Characterize physical and chemical properties of drug products using relevant analytical techniques.
• Troubleshoot formulation and manufacturing process issues, identifying and implementing solutions.
• Collaborate with analytical development, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs teams.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Hands-on experience with various dosage form development and manufacturing techniques.
• Proficiency in analytical techniques for characterizing drug products.
• Understanding of GMP principles and regulatory requirements for drug product development.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
