Location: Whiteley
Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
The Opportunity
We’re supporting a well-established, globally operating business within a specialist sector, looking to bring in an experienced Freight Forwarder / Logistics Coordinator with a strong background in international freight and shipping.
This is a fast-paced, project-driven environment where logistics plays a critical role in delivering complex work across international markets. You’ll be responsible for coordinating freight movements from booking through to delivery, while also supporting wider project logistics requirements.
You’ll join a collaborative team where commercial awareness, attention to detail, communication and problem-solving are key.

The Role
You’ll take ownership of day-to-day freight forwarding activities, coordinating shipments and ensuring materials move efficiently across international projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Arranging and coordinating international freight movements by road, sea and air
- Managing freight bookings with shipping lines, airlines, hauliers, freight agents and other logistics partners
- Coordinating import and export shipments from booking through to final delivery
- Preparing and checking shipping and customs documentation
- Ensuring shipments comply with relevant customs and international trade requirements
- Liaising with customers, suppliers, carriers and overseas partners
- Obtaining and reviewing freight quotations to identify cost-effective solutions
- Monitoring shipments and providing updates to internal and external stakeholders
- Proactively resolving delays, issues and exceptions throughout the freight process
- Coordinating transport arrangements and delivery requirements for project cargo
- Identifying potential logistical risks and implementing practical solutions
- Supporting the wider team with project logistics and continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with genuine freight forwarding experience who understands how international shipments are booked, documented and moved.
- Previous experience within freight forwarding, shipping or international logistics
- Strong understanding of import/export procedures and international freight movements
- Experience arranging freight by road, sea and/or air
- Confidence dealing with carriers, hauliers, shipping lines, agents and other logistics providers
- Experience preparing and checking shipping and customs documentation
- Good commercial awareness and the ability to review freight costs and quotations
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple shipments, priorities and deadlines simultaneously
