Job Description
Functional Skills Teachers needed (TUESDAYS ONLY - SHORT HOURS) Are you a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher looking for your next rewarding role? Join our agency team and work with a SEN team that support students with a range of complex needs, including Autism, SEMH challenges, and associated behavioural difficulties in Post-16 immediately. About the Role
We support a number of SEN and alternative education settings across Birmingham and have been asked to recruit Functional Skills Teachers for September. You will deliver engaging, personalised lessons in Functional Skills English, Maths and/or ICT/Digital Skills, adapting teaching to meet the individual needs and abilities of each learner. You'll work closely with support staff and other professionals to support EHCP outcomes, monitor progress, build confidence and promote positive learning outcomes. Lessons may be delivered on a one-to-one or small-group basis, depending on the needs of the setting and learners. ________________________________________ What We're Looking For: QTS with SEMH classroom experience Proven ability to manage challenging behaviour and support emotional regulation Experience teaching students aged 11-16 with SEND A flexible, resilient approach and a strong commitment to safeguarding Ability to create a nurturing classroom where every student can thrive ________________________________________ Desirable (but not essential):
- Functional Skills qualifications or relevant subject specialism in English, Maths and/or ICT
- Experience working with EHCPs and individual learning plans
- Experience supporting learners with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs or emotional regulation ________________________________________
