Prospero Teaching are looking for experienced Functional Skills Tutors to support learners across St Helens!

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting tutors to deliver individualised Functional Skills tuition to learners who require additional educational support.

You'll help students work towards their qualifications whilst developing their confidence and practical skills in their chosen subject.

We welcome applications from tutors with experience delivering Functional Skills English and/or Maths.

Position Details:

Location: St Helens Position: Functional Skills Tutor Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: September 2026 Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

Experience delivering Functional Skills qualifications Strong subject knowledge in English and/or Maths Previous teaching or tutoring experience Experience supporting learners with gaps in education is beneficial QTS, PGCE or equivalent desirable Flexible and learner-centred teaching style

To be eligible for this role, you must:

Hold the Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to process a new application Provide two professional references
