Games Tester

About the Role

Our client requires a meticulous and observant Games Tester to join their agile, remote QA team on a part-time basis. You will be responsible for discovering and reporting defects in games currently under development, playing a crucial role in refining the player experience. This position is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for video games, who is looking to contribute to the Gaming & Esports industry in a flexible, remote capacity. Working from home, you will be an integral part of a distributed team dedicated to delivering high-quality entertainment.

Key Responsibilities

• Test game features according to defined test cases and ad-hoc exploration.
• Identify, document, and track defects using bug tracking software, providing clear and actionable information.
• Verify that bug fixes have been implemented correctly and do not negatively impact other game elements.
• Provide feedback on game balance, difficulty, and overall user experience.
• Communicate progress and issues clearly to the QA lead and development team.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative testing environment.

Requirements

• Prior experience in Quality Assurance or as a Games Tester is advantageous.
• A genuine passion for gaming and a broad knowledge of different game genres.
• Proficiency in using bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
• Ability to meticulously follow instructions and document findings.
• Strong communication skills suitable for a remote working environment.
