Games Tester

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Games Tester to join their fully remote development studio, contributing to the quality of their exciting game titles. You will be responsible for identifying, documenting, and verifying defects to ensure a high-quality player experience. This role is perfect for individuals with a passion for gaming, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a remote-first team across the UK . You'll play a crucial part in the game development lifecycle, helping to deliver polished and enjoyable products.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute test cases and perform exploratory testing to uncover bugs, performance issues, and usability problems.
• Document defects with precise details, including steps to reproduce, severity, and screenshots/videos.
• Perform regression testing to confirm that resolved issues do not reappear and have not caused new problems.
• Provide constructive feedback on game design, mechanics, balance, and overall player experience.
• Liaise with developers and designers through remote communication channels to reproduce and verify bugs.
• Contribute to the improvement of testing documentation and processes within the remote team.

Requirements

• Prior professional experience as a Games Tester or in a similar QA role.
• A strong passion for video games and a comprehensive understanding of different game genres and platforms.
• Excellent analytical skills and a highly detailed approach to testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, essential for effective remote collaboration.
• Proficiency in using bug-tracking software (e.g., Jira) and test management tools.
• Demonstrated ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines in a remote-first environment.
