The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Garden Maintenance Team Leader to join a growing horticultural business maintaining a portfolio of premium private and commercial gardens across Central London and the surrounding areas .
This is a full-time permanent position offering a salary of £35,000 to £45,000 per annum , depending on experience.
A company van is provided and can be kept at home, allowing you to travel directly to your first site each day. You'll visit the company yard once a week to collect materials and equipment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced gardener who is ready to lead a small team while maintaining some of London's most prestigious gardens. Working across a variety of high-end residential and commercial sites, you'll combine hands‑on horticulture with team leadership, ensuring exceptional standards of presentation and customer service at every location.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a small garden maintenance team across multiple sites
- Carry out all aspects of professional garden maintenance, including planting, pruning, watering, irrigation, lawn care, and seasonal horticultural tasks
- Maintain premium private and commercial gardens to an exceptional standard
- Plan daily workloads and ensure work is completed efficiently
- Train, mentor, and support junior team members
- Build positive relationships with clients, responding professionally to requests and queries
- Complete daily electronic job reports with accurate updates
- Work closely with the operations team and garden designers
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company Health and Safety procedures
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment to a high standard
Requirements
- Minimum of two years' experience within a professional garden maintenance or horticultural role
- Previous Team Leader experience or the ability to step into a leadership position
- Strong plant knowledge and practical horticultural skills
- Experience in pruning, planting, irrigation, lawn care, pest and disease management, and seasonal garden maintenance
- PA1 and PA6 certificates essential
- RHS Level 2 or equivalent horticultural qualification desirable
- Full clean UK driving licence essential
- Right to work in the UK
