Prospero Teaching are recruiting GCSE English & Maths Tutors to support learners across Runcorn!

The Opportunity

We are looking for experienced tutors and teachers to provide 1:1 GCSE tuition to secondary-aged learners.

Students may require additional support due to gaps in their education, additional needs or difficulties accessing mainstream education.

We're particularly keen to hear from candidates with a strong Maths specialism, although tutors able to deliver both English and Maths are encouraged to apply.

Position Details:

Location: Runcorn Position: GCSE English & Maths Tutor Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: September 2026 Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

Experience delivering GCSE Maths and/or English Strong understanding of the relevant GCSE curriculum QTS, PGCE or equivalent desirable Previous 1:1 tutoring experience is advantageous Ability to adapt lessons to individual learners Experience supporting SEND learners would be beneficial

To be eligible for this role, you must:

Hold the Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to obtain a new application Provide two professional child-related references
