Job Description
We are recruiting for an experienced General Foreman to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a major AMP8 wastewater scheme in Liverpool.
The initial project is a technically challenging Wastewater Treatment Works (WWTW) scheme involving significant reinforced concrete and associated civil engineering works. We are particularly interested in speaking with Foremen who have a strong background across general civils, drainage, reinforced concrete and earthworks, ideally with previous experience within the water sector.
This is a particularly exciting time to join a wider Group experiencing significant growth across multiple areas of infrastructure and construction. With an expanding project portfolio, continued investment in its people and ambitious plans for the years ahead, the business is creating genuine opportunities to take on greater responsibility and progress as the Group continues to scale.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate multiple gangs and day-to-day site activities.

Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
*
Coordinate manpower, materials, plant and equipment across site.
*
Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical information for site teams.
*
Deliver daily briefings, toolbox talks and site inspections.
*
Ensure RAMS are communicated, understood and fully implemented.
*
Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
*
Record and report near misses, incidents and changing site conditions.
*
Work closely with the wider project team to resolve issues and maintain progress.
*
Maintain accurate site records, including submission of timesheets.
*
Support and develop junior members of the site team.
The Successful Candidate
*
Previous General Foreman / Foreman experience within civil engineering.
*
Strong experience across general civils, drainage, RC and earthworks.
*
Water/wastewater experience would be highly advantageous.
*
Experience within highways and infrastructure environments will also be considered.
*
Confident managing multiple gangs and coordinating site resources.
*
Strong understanding of drawings, specifications and construction methodology.
*
A strong HSQE mindset and track record of maintaining high site standards.
*
Good problem-solving, communication and organisational skills.
*
Ability to work effectively alongside Site Managers, Engineers and the wider project team.
