General Store Manager | High-Volume Retail | Home Counties | Up to £60,000 + Bonus
Zachary Daniels Retail Recruitment is partnering with a leading UK retailer to recruit a General Store Manager for a high-volume store in the Home Counties.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced retail leader who thrives in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment.
You'll take full accountability for the store, leading a significant team and management structure while driving sales, customer experience, operational standards and people performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving sales, profitability, productivity and commercial KPIs
- Leading a high-volume operation while maintaining strong customer and brand standards
- Creating an excellent customer experience
- Leading, coaching and developing a large team and management structure
- Building a strong talent pipeline and succession plan
- Managing P&L, payroll and operational costs
- Driving stock, visual and operational standards
- Using trading data and customer insight to identify opportunities and take action
- Leading effectively through peak trading, change and competing priorities
- Partnering with senior leadership on wider business initiatives
About You
We're looking for an experienced General Store Manager, Store Manager or Senior Retail Leader with a strong background in fashion, supermarket, big-box or another high-volume, customer-led retail environment.
You'll bring:
- Strong experience within a high-volume retail environment
- Experience leading large teams and management structures
- A strong commercial track record across sales, profitability and productivity
- Experience managing significant P&L, payroll and operational costs
- Excellent people leadership and a passion for developing talent
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to turn data into action
- The resilience, pace and presence to lead at scale
