Geological Technician - Site Operations

About the Role

Our client is looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Geological Technician to support their site operations in Plymouth . In this hands-on role, you will assist geologists in collecting, logging, and analyzing geological samples and data from exploration and mining activities. Your accurate fieldwork and laboratory support will be crucial for understanding subsurface conditions and resource potential. Key Responsibilities

• Assist geologists in collecting rock, soil, and core samples from various site locations.
• Perform basic geological logging and description of samples and drill core.
• Conduct preliminary laboratory tests on collected samples, such as sieving and specific gravity measurements.
• Maintain accurate field notes, sample logs, and laboratory records.
• Prepare geological maps and cross-sections under the supervision of a geologist.
• Ensure proper labeling, storage, and transportation of geological samples.

Requirements

• HND or equivalent qualification in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
• Previous experience in geological fieldwork or a related laboratory setting is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with basic geological terminology and sampling techniques.
• Proficiency in using field equipment and basic laboratory instrumentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meticulously record data.
• Physical fitness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
