Geologist - Exploration

About the Role

Our client is looking for a motivated and skilled Exploration Geologist to join their dedicated geoscience team in Leeds, West Yorkshire . This role is essential for identifying and evaluating new hydrocarbon prospects, utilizing advanced geological and geophysical techniques. You will play a key role in the interpretation of subsurface data, contributing directly to the company's exploration strategy and future growth within the Oil & Gas sector . Key Responsibilities

• Interpret seismic, well log, and core data to identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon reservoirs.
• Develop detailed geological models and prospect maps, integrating data from various sources.
• Conduct geological risk assessments and contribute to the estimation of potential reserves and resources.
• Collaborate with geophysicists and reservoir engineers to refine subsurface interpretations and development strategies.
• Assist in the planning and execution of field operations, including seismic surveys and exploration well drilling.
• Stay abreast of new geological concepts, technologies, and industry best practices relevant to exploration.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related geoscience discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in exploration geology, with a focus on basin analysis and prospect identification.
• Proficiency in using geological interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
• Strong understanding of sequence stratigraphy, sedimentology, and structural geology.
• Experience with 2D and 3D seismic interpretation techniques.
• Excellent analytical, data integration, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex geological concepts clearly.
