Geologist - Mining Exploration

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and inquisitive Geologist specializing in mining exploration to join their expanding team based in Birmingham . This role is crucial for identifying and evaluating new mineral resource opportunities. You will be involved in field exploration, data analysis, and reporting, playing a key part in the company's strategic resource acquisition. The successful candidate will contribute to groundbreaking exploration projects, utilizing advanced geological techniques and fostering a collaborative spirit within the exploration department.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct geological mapping and fieldwork to identify potential mineral deposits.
• Collect and analyze rock, soil, and stream sediment samples for geochemical analysis.
• Interpret geophysical data and drill core logs to define ore bodies and mineral potential.
• Prepare detailed geological reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and management.
• Collaborate with mining engineers and geophysicists to develop exploration strategies and targets.
• Maintain accurate and organized geological databases and records.

Requirements

• Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in mineral exploration geology.
• Proficiency with geological mapping software (e.g., ArcGIS, Leapfrog).
• Experience in ore deposit modelling and interpretation.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work effectively in both field and office environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
