Geophysicist - Seismic Interpretation

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Geophysicist specializing in seismic interpretation to join their team in Cambridge . This role is fundamental to the exploration and development of oil and gas resources, requiring detailed analysis of seismic data to identify subsurface structures and potential hydrocarbon accumulations. You will work closely with geologists and reservoir engineers to build integrated subsurface models and contribute to critical decision-making processes within the oil and gas industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed seismic data interpretation to delineate geological structures and identify potential prospects.
• Integrate seismic data with well logs, core data, and other subsurface information.
• Generate 2D and 3D maps and models of the subsurface geology.
• Conduct seismic attribute analysis and inversion studies to enhance reservoir characterization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess exploration risks and opportunities.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in seismic interpretation within the oil and gas exploration sector.
• Proficiency with leading seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, IHS Markit).
• Strong understanding of seismic acquisition , processing, and migration techniques.
• Proven ability to work with large datasets and complex geological models.
• Degree in Geophysics, Geology, or a related Earth Science discipline.
