About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Geophysicist specializing in Seismic Interpretation to join their team in Edinburgh . This role is vital for identifying and evaluating potential hydrocarbon reservoirs through the analysis of seismic data. You will work on diverse geological projects, contributing to exploration and development strategies within the oil and gas sector . This position offers a blend of on-site collaboration and remote flexibility, allowing you to contribute to critical subsurface analysis while maintaining a good work-life balance. You will be part of a team dedicated to advancing exploration success through cutting-edge geophysical techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to identify geological structures and stratigraphic traps.
- Integrate seismic data with well logs, core data, and other geological information for comprehensive subsurface analysis.
- Perform amplitude variation with offset (AVO) analysis and seismic attribute studies.
- Contribute to prospect generation, risking, and volumetric assessment.
- Utilize state-of-the-art geophysical software and techniques for seismic data processing and interpretation.
- Collaborate with geologists, reservoir engineers, and other subsurface disciplines to support exploration and development efforts.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in seismic interpretation within the oil and gas exploration industry .
- Proficiency with industry-standard seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom, HampsonRussell).
- Strong understanding of seismic processing workflows and geological principles.
- Experience with structural and stratigraphic interpretation in various tectonic settings.
- Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics, Geology, or a related Earth Science discipline.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong communication abilities.
