About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Geotechnical Civil Engineer to join their growing team in Belfast , Northern Ireland. This role focuses on the investigation, analysis, and design of earthworks, foundations, and ground improvement solutions for a variety of infrastructure and construction projects. You will be responsible for assessing ground conditions, mitigating geotechnical risks, and providing expert advice to ensure the stability and safety of structures. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute site investigations, including borehole drilling , trial pits, and in-situ testing.
- Analyze soil and rock mechanics data to assess ground conditions and identify potential risks.
- Design foundations, retaining walls, slope stabilization measures, and ground improvement systems.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, specifications, and drawings.
- Provide expert geotechnical advice to project teams, clients, and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with relevant geotechnical codes of practice and health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Demonstrable experience in geotechnical site investigation, analysis, and design.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software packages (e.g., GeoStudio, Plaxis).
- Knowledge of relevant British Standards and Eurocodes for geotechnical design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Membership with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or equivalent is advantageous.
