Geotechnical Civil Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geotechnical site investigations and analyses, including soil testing and interpretation.
• Design foundations, retaining structures, and earthworks appropriate for various ground conditions.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, risk assessments, and design recommendations.
• Collaborate with structural and civil engineers to integrate geotechnical solutions into overall project designs.
• Advise on construction methods related to groundworks, excavations, and earth retention systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant geotechnical codes, standards, and best practices in Milton Keynes projects.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
• At least 6 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, including site investigation and design.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software for slope stability, foundation analysis, and finite element modelling.
• Solid understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and hydrogeology.
• Excellent report writing and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and contribute effectively to a remote engineering team.
