About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Civil Engineer to join their dedicated team based in Belfast . This role focuses on analyzing ground conditions and providing expert advice for a wide range of construction and infrastructure projects across Northern Ireland . You will be responsible for designing foundations, earthworks, and slope stability solutions, ensuring the safety and longevity of civil engineering structures. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee geotechnical investigations , including site investigations and laboratory testing.
- Analyze soil and rock mechanics data to assess ground conditions and potential risks.
- Design foundations, retaining walls, and slope stabilization measures.
- Prepare geotechnical reports, technical specifications, and design drawings.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project requirements are met.
- Provide technical support during the construction phase, addressing any geotechnical issues that arise.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in geotechnical analysis and design.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software such as GeoStudio , Plaxis, or similar.
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
- Experience in interpreting site investigation data and conducting risk assessments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
