Geotechnical Engineer - Site Investigations

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join their expanding operations in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial for undertaking detailed site investigations and providing essential geotechnical advice for a range of construction and infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage comprehensive geotechnical site investigations , including intrusive and non-intrusive methods.
• Supervise and conduct field testing, including CPT, SPT, and trial pits, ensuring data accuracy.
• Analyze soil and rock mechanics data to assess ground conditions and potential risks.
• Develop detailed geotechnical design reports, including foundation design, slope stability analysis, and earthworks recommendations.
• Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams during the execution phase.
• Liaise with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure project compliance and satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering and site investigations.
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software such as Plaxis, GeoStudio, or similar.
• Experience in report writing and the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
• Full UK driving license.
