About the Role
Our client is seeking a qualified Geotechnical Engineer to join their expanding team in Brighton . This role is fundamental to assessing ground conditions and providing essential engineering advice for a wide range of projects within the Oil & Gas and construction sectors. You will be involved in planning and supervising site investigations, analyzing soil and rock mechanics data, and designing foundations, slopes, and earthworks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of soil-structure interaction and the ability to apply geotechnical principles to solve complex engineering challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and manage geotechnical investigations , including site reconnaissance, borehole drilling, and in-situ testing.
- Analyze data from laboratory and field tests to determine soil and rock properties.
- Perform geotechnical design for foundations (shallow and deep), retaining walls, slopes, and other civil infrastructure.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, specifications, and drawings.
- Provide technical guidance and supervision to site investigation teams and construction personnel.
- Liaise with clients, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering practice.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software for analysis and design (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio).
- Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
- Experience in managing and interpreting site investigation data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation.
