Geotechnical Engineer - Glasgow
First People Solutions is working with a highly respected consulting engineer looking to grow their Ground Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to work on a diverse range of infrastructure projects, primarily in the power sector, with opportunities across rail and highways.
The Role
As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will:
Deliver geotechnical design solutions across a variety of infrastructure projects
Produce geotechnical calculations, technical reports and design documentation
Carry out desk studies, specify and interpret ground investigations, and develop practical design solutions
Design foundations, retaining walls, earthworks and slope stability work
Support projects from feasibility through to detailed design, with occasional site supervision
Experience
Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline
Around 2-5 years' experience within a UK consultancy or design-focused environment.
Experience with ground investigations, geotechnical design and technical reporting.
Strong understanding of soil mechanics, foundations and earthworks.
Working towards chartership (ICE, Geological Society or similar).
Full UK driving licence.
Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance is desirable.
