About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join their expanding infrastructure and mining support division in Cardiff . This role is vital for assessing ground conditions, designing safe and stable foundations, and providing geotechnical solutions for challenging projects. You will work on a hybrid basis, combining remote analysis and reporting with site visits and client meetings. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to significant engineering projects across the UK, working within a dynamic team environment that values technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site investigations, including planning and interpreting geotechnical surveys and soil testing.
- Perform slope stability analysis, foundation design, and earthworks assessments.
- Develop detailed geotechnical reports and recommendations for construction projects.
- Collaborate with structural engineers, civil engineers, and construction teams to implement solutions.
- Manage project timelines and budgets effectively, ensuring timely delivery of technical advice.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in geotechnical engineering.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering; Master's preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in geotechnical site investigation and design.
- Proficiency with geotechnical software (e.g., Plaxis, GeoStudio) is essential.
- Experience in slope stability analysis, foundation design, and ground improvement techniques.
- Strong understanding of UK building codes and relevant geotechnical standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report preparation and client liaison.
