About the Role
Our client requires a knowledgeable Geotechnical Engineer to join their expanding team in Plymouth, Devon, UK . This role involves providing expert geotechnical input for a variety of projects, including offshore wind farms, oil and gas infrastructure, and civil engineering developments. You will be responsible for site investigations, data analysis, foundation design, and risk assessment related to ground conditions. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer to contribute to significant infrastructure projects in a region known for its maritime and energy sector activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage geotechnical site investigations, including offshore surveys.
- Analyze soil and rock mechanics data to assess ground conditions and risks.
- Perform foundation design for offshore structures, wind turbines, and other energy infrastructure.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports and provide technical recommendations.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other engineering disciplines.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Proven experience in geotechnical engineering , with a focus on offshore or energy projects.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software for analysis and design (e.g., PLAXIS, GRLWEAP).
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and site characterization techniques.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills, with attention to detail in Plymouth .
