About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the meticulous maintenance and presentation of our prestigious golf course facilities located in Aberdeen . This pivotal role involves managing all aspects of turfgrass management, landscape operations, and course agronomy to ensure an exceptional playing experience for members and guests. You will lead a team of groundskeepers, implement innovative horticultural practices, and manage the operational budget effectively, contributing to the overall success and reputation of the club.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive agronomic plans for turfgrass, including mowing, fertilization, irrigation, and pest/disease management.
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team of groundskeepers, ensuring high standards of work and safety.
- Manage course conditioning to maintain optimal playability and aesthetic appeal throughout the season.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all golf course machinery and equipment.
- Manage the departmental budget, controlling expenditures on labor, materials, and equipment.
- Implement sustainable and environmentally sound maintenance practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
- Degree or diploma in Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of turfgrass science , pest/disease identification, and control methods.
- Experience in irrigation system management and repair.
- Proficiency in managing budgets and staff effectively.
- Valid UK driving license and willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
