Orthopaedic Theatres

Due to an expansion of our service, there are exciting opportunities are available to join the Orthopaedic Theatre Team within the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. We have multiple Band 5 positions available for Registered Nurses/Operating Department Practitioners with theatre experience, and we are looking for passionate, caring, motivated people to join our highly skilled nursing teams.

We offer the opportunity to work with talented teams within multidisciplinary environments and impact positively on the lives of thousands of patients and their families.

What We Can Offer You

Here at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh we currently have 6 Orthopaedic Theatres. We undertake all major joint replacements and have the busiest Orthopaedic Trauma Theatres in Eastern Scotland. We are also a major trauma unit and regularly take referrals from other parts of Scotland.

Please note that we anticipate that the interviews for this advert will take place on 27/10/2026 at the Comely Bank Centre in Edinburgh.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
