About the Role
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Graduate Civil Engineer to join their structural engineering team in Cardiff . This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in a leading engineering consultancy, working on a diverse range of structural projects from initial concept design through to construction. You will be an integral part of a supportive team environment, receiving mentorship and training to develop your skills and progress your career within the structural engineering field, contributing directly to the success of innovative and challenging projects within the built environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers in the structural design of buildings and other structures, undertaking calculations and developing design drawings.
- Prepare technical documentation, including reports, specifications, and schedules, under supervision.
- Participate in site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and quality.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other consultants to ensure project objectives are met.
- Support the development of project proposals and tender submissions, gaining exposure to all aspects of consultancy work.
Requirements
- A BEng or MEng degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- A foundational understanding of structural analysis and design principles for common building materials.
- Familiarity with relevant UK building codes and standards.
- Proficiency in basic CAD software and a keen interest in structural design software.
- Strong desire to learn, excellent attention to detail, and good teamwork skills.
