Graduate Civil Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for dedicated Graduate Civil Engineers to join their infrastructure development team in Edinburgh . This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic graduates to contribute to significant engineering projects, from planning and design through to construction oversight. You will work under the guidance of experienced chartered engineers, developing practical skills in areas such as structural design, site investigation, and project management, playing a key role in shaping the built environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and planning of civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, and utilities.
• Perform site surveys and gather data to inform design decisions.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Support project managers in monitoring construction progress and ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
• Collaborate with architects, surveyors, and other construction professionals.

Requirements

• A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar.
• A foundational understanding of structural principles, soil mechanics, and construction methods.
• Good analytical skills and the ability to solve practical engineering problems.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive approach to learning.
