Graduate Electronics Engineer – FPGA / Electronics
Location: Gloucestershire Salary: £55,000 + Bonus and Benefits
I’m recruiting for a technology company seeking a high-calibre Graduate Electronics Engineer to join its multidisciplinary engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or PhD candidate with a strong academic background and an interest in FPGA development, electronics design and embedded systems.
The Role
You will contribute to the development of advanced electronic systems, with responsibilities including:
- Implementing signal, image and data-processing algorithms in VHDL
- Designing PCBs incorporating FPGAs, SoCs and high-speed interfaces
- Completing schematic capture using OrCAD
- Supporting PCB layout, manufacture and assembly
- Developing test firmware and embedded software
- Writing Linux device drivers for bespoke hardware
- Testing and bringing up newly designed PCBs
Essential Experience
- A 1st or 2:1 degree, or a PhD, in Electronic Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another numerate subject
- A strong academic background in Mathematics and Physics
- Knowledge of at least one of the following:
- FPGA development using VHDL
- PCB design and layout
- Embedded C or C++ development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A self-motivated approach and the ability to work independently
