Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services)

MEP Mechanical Design Engineer / Building Services / Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer / Junior Mechanical Design Engineer
This role is to join a highly recognised construction consultancy with over 1000 employees nationwide as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you will benefit from on the job learning experiences whilst working on prestigious projects from large industrial and commercial schemes with contract values over £30 million to smaller schemes.
Based from fantastic new Cambridge offices you will work alongside friendly and professional colleagues with a range of interesting clients including, large retail companies and educational establishments. Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation of outline design schemes
- Visiting site during the construction phase to monitor progress
- Ensuring services conform to the latest building regulations and technical standards
- Production of drawings under the direction of Engineers
- Assisting with the checking of documents and carry out detailed calculations
- Using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) and BIM (Revit) software and other resources to design the systems required for each project
- Assisting with the installation of building systems and specifying maintenance and operating procedure
- Liaising closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors of in-house and external project teams
- Undertaking duties as indicated by Team Manager to obtain experience and training in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
Qualifications
- MEng / BEng Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
- Some experience in a role relating to building services design would be beneficial, although not essential
- Experience of Revit would be advantageous but not essential.
- Experience of IES modelling would be advantageous essential.
- High quality oral and written communications (reports, instructions etc)
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project
You must be able to work in the UK without requiring employer sponsorship either now or in the future
