About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join their engineering division based in Edinburgh . This role provides a structured pathway for recent graduates to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical, hands-on environment, contributing to the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components. You will work within a dedicated team of engineers, collaborating on projects that span various industries, and receiving mentorship to develop your technical skills and professional capabilities. This is an office-based position, fostering direct interaction and collaborative problem-solving within a dynamic engineering setting in Edinburgh .
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems using CAD software.
- Participate in the testing and validation of prototypes and existing products.
- Conduct technical analysis and calculations to ensure designs meet performance requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to ensure successful implementation of designs.
- Support the troubleshooting and resolution of engineering issues.
- Contribute to project documentation, reports, and design reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Foundational knowledge of engineering principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science.
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
