Graduate Quantity Surveyor

About the Role

Our client is actively recruiting for motivated Graduate Quantity Surveyors to join their established construction consultancy in Edinburgh . This role is an excellent entry point into the surveying profession, offering comprehensive training and the chance to gain practical experience in cost management and commercial aspects of construction projects. You will work alongside experienced professionals, learning about contract administration, cost estimation, and procurement processes. We are seeking diligent, detail-oriented individuals with a strong interest in the construction industry and a desire to build a successful career in quantity surveying.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of Bills of Quantities, cost estimates, and tender documentation.
• Support the measurement and valuation of works, including interim payments and final accounts.
• Help manage project costs throughout the construction lifecycle, identifying potential risks and savings.
• Assist in contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders as directed.
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation.

Requirements

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A foundational understanding of construction processes and commercial management.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, essential for client and team interaction.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Eagerness to learn and develop professional competencies within the construction sector.
