We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Science Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic team at a reputable Coventry secondary school. This is the ideal opportunity for a graduate considering a career in the education sector to gain invaluable classroom experience in a supportive and inclusive environment.
You will work closely with the science department, alongside experienced educators, to provide support for students across Key Stages 3 and 4 to raise attainment and foster a love of science.
What is the role?
- Support teaching and learning during science lessons (Biology, Chemistry and Physics)
- Provide 1:1 and small group interventions for students needing extra support
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation and delivery
- Help students to develop their confidence and independent learning skills in the science classroom
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
What are we looking for?
- A strong academic background, including a 2:1 or higher degree in a science- related subject from a leading university
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, patient and adaptable approach
- Experience working with children and young people (desirable but not essential)
- A passion for education and a desire to pursue a career in this field
