Graduate Trainee Accountant

About the Role

Our client is actively recruiting a conscientious and eager Graduate Trainee Accountant to join their finance department in Southampton . You will support the finance team with daily accounting tasks, learn about financial reporting, and contribute to maintaining accurate financial records. Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management accounts.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately.
• Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
• Support with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Help prepare budgets and forecasts, and conduct variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
• A strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to learn new accounting software.
• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
