Grid Connection Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Grid Connection Engineer to facilitate the seamless integration of renewable energy projects with the national grid infrastructure, supporting operations primarily from Norwich . This role is pivotal in ensuring that new energy generation assets meet all technical and regulatory requirements for grid connection. You will work closely with developers, network operators, and internal engineering teams to navigate the complexities of grid connection processes, from application submission to final commissioning. Your expertise will be crucial in accelerating the transition to a cleaner energy future by overcoming connection challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end grid connection process for renewable energy projects.
• Prepare and submit grid connection applications and associated technical documentation.
• Liaise with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and National Grid to ensure compliance with connection standards.
• Review and interpret grid connection agreements and technical requirements.
• Provide technical support and advice on grid code compliance and system studies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to grid connection design and implementation.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in grid connections, power systems engineering, or project management within the energy sector.
• Solid understanding of grid connection processes, grid codes, and power system analysis.
• Experience working with DNOs, Transmission Owners, or National Grid is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and their grid integration challenges.
• Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
