About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Grid Integration Engineer to join their dedicated team in Milton Keynes . This role is crucial for ensuring the seamless and stable connection of new energy generation sources to the national grid. You will be responsible for technical analysis, system design, and compliance with grid codes and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong electrical engineering background and a comprehensive understanding of grid dynamics, power systems, and renewable energy integration challenges, contributing to the reliability and efficiency of the UK's energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed grid connection studies and impact assessments for new renewable energy projects.
- Design and specify substation and network infrastructure required for grid integration.
- Ensure compliance with relevant grid codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., G99, G100).
- Develop protection schemes and control strategies for grid-connected power systems.
- Collaborate with grid operators, project developers, and equipment manufacturers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to grid integration during project commissioning and operation.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in grid connection or power systems engineering.
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC power systems, grid stability, and fault analysis.
- Familiarity with renewable energy technologies (solar PV, wind turbines, battery storage).
- Experience with grid connection standards and regulatory frameworks within the UK.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
