About the Role
Our client is looking for an innovative Grid Modernization Engineer to join their team, contributing to the enhancement and future-proofing of the energy infrastructure in the South West of England . This hybrid role involves collaborating on projects aimed at integrating renewable energy sources, improving grid resilience, and implementing smart grid technologies. You will work closely with various engineering disciplines and external partners to design and implement solutions that support a cleaner, more efficient energy system.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and implementation of projects focused on smart grid technologies, automation, and grid control systems.
- Analyze grid performance data to identify areas for improvement and capacity expansion.
- Support the integration of distributed energy resources (DERs) and renewable energy sources into the existing grid.
- Develop technical specifications and documentation for grid modernization initiatives.
- Collaborate with project managers, utility engineers, and technology providers to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in power systems engineering, grid operations, or smart grid technologies.
- Familiarity with concepts such as SCADA, AMI, grid automation, and renewable energy integration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment and collaborate with diverse teams.
