Grinding Operative Location: Bath Salary: £33,000-£36,000 DOE Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Hours: Days Monday to Friday
We are recruiting for a Grinding Operative to join an established precision engineering business. This is a hands-on manufacturing role working with high-precision components where accuracy, quality and attention to detail are essential.
The Role
As a Grinding Operative, you will be responsible for producing and finishing precision-engineered components to drawing and specification. You will operate grinding equipment to achieve tight tolerances and high-quality finishes, carrying out inspections throughout the manufacturing process.
Your responsibilities will include:
Operating grinding machinery to manufacture precision components Setting and adjusting machinery as required Working from engineering drawings and technical specifications Checking components using precision measuring equipment Working accurately to tight dimensional tolerances Carrying out in-process and final inspection Identifying and reporting any quality issues Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working area Following company quality and health & safety proceduresAbout You
We are looking for someone with experience in a precision engineering or machining environment. Previous grinding experience would be advantageous, but candidates with a strong background in CNC milling or CNC turning may also be considered, particularly where they have experience working to tight tolerances and engineering drawings.
You may have experience as a Grinding Operative, Grinder, CNC Grinder, CNC Machinist, CNC Miller, CNC Turner, Precision Machinist, Machine Operator or similar.
The successful candidate will have:
Previous experience in precision engineering, machining or grinding CNC milling or turning experience will also be considered The ability to read and understand engineering drawings Experience using micrometers, verniers and other precision measuring equipment Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach The ability to work accurately to tight tolerances A reliable and practical approach to manufacturingThe Opportunity
