A thriving sports and fitness facility in Portsmouth is seeking a proactive and organized Gym Operations Supervisor to ensure the smooth running of its gym floor and fitness areas. This role is crucial for maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all members, enhancing their fitness journey within the Leisure & Sports sector. You will be responsible for supervising gym staff, assisting members, maintaining equipment, and implementing operational procedures. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about fitness, possesses strong customer service skills, and has a keen eye for operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the gym floor team, ensuring excellent member service and adherence to club policies.
• Assist members with equipment usage, fitness advice, and general inquiries.
• Conduct regular checks of gym equipment, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the gym floor, studios, and changing facilities.
• Assist in the onboarding and training of new gym staff and fitness instructors.
• Implement and enforce health and safety regulations within the gym environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a gym environment, ideally in a supervisory or team leader role.
• Relevant fitness qualification (e.g., Level 2 Fitness Instructor).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of gym equipment operation and basic maintenance.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• First Aid at Work certification is essential.
