Hardware Engineer - High Voltage Power Electronics

We are recruiting for a Hardware Engineer to join a leading manufacturer of high-voltage power supplies , leading the design and verification of complex power electronics. The role covers everything from concept architecture through to prototyping, testing, and production introduction.

You'll lead complete engineering projects, developing high-voltage power supplies, analogue/digital circuits, and magnetics for critical infrastructure and defence. If you're looking for genuine technical ownership across the full product lifecycle, this is a fantastic opportunity.

Key responsibilities:

• Design HV power supplies, power conversion systems, and magnetics
• Develop new products using schematic capture, PCB layout (KiCAD or equivalent), and simulation tools
• Execute testing, verification, and fault-finding on prototype equipment
• Produce detailed design records, BOMs, calculations, and technical reports
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Procurement, and customers
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers

Key Requirements:

• Degree, HND/HNC, or equivalent in Electronic, Electrical, or Power Electronics Engineering
• 4+ years' of experience in power electronics development, ideally with DC-DC converters.
• Hands-on experience with component selection, prototype debugging, and design verification
• Strong analytical, documentation, and technical leadership skills
• Must hold British Citizenship and be eligible for BPSS security screening due to the nature of the defence project
