Healthcare Assistant
Location: Various Sites
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £24,852.56 – £27,374.97 (£12.71 – £14.00 per hour)
About The Role
We are recruiting a compassionate and motivated Healthcare Assistant to join a growing clinical team supporting outpatient clinics across a variety of specialties.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HCA who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality patient care while supporting clinicians across NHS and private services. The role offers variety, professional development, and the opportunity to work across multiple clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the smooth running of outpatient clinics and patient pathways
- Undertake patient observations including blood pressure, height, weight and urinalysis
- Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection
- Assist with ECGs, wound care, dressing changes and suture removal
- Chaperone patients during examinations and procedures
- Support clinicians during minor surgery and specialist outpatient clinics
- Prepare and maintain clinical rooms, equipment and stock
- Record patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality
- Assist with reception duties when required
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, CQC and Health & Safety standards
- Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives and mandatory training
What We're Looking For
Essential
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
- Care Certificate
- Minimum of one year's experience as a Healthcare Assistant
- Phlebotomy experience or training
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills with a patient-centred approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- IT literacy
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel between sites and work weekends on a rota basis
Desirable
- Experience supporting outpatient clinics or outpatient procedures
- Previous hospital or diagnostic service experience
- Experience working across multiple clinical specialties
- Flexible and highly motivated approach to work
