Head Chef - Contract Catering

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Head Chef to lead the culinary team for a prestigious contract catering client in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is crucial for delivering exceptional dining experiences, managing kitchen operations efficiently, and upholding the highest standards of food quality and safety. You will be responsible for menu planning, team leadership, cost control, and ensuring client satisfaction through outstanding food and service, contributing significantly to the success of the catering contract and the reputation of the company in the local market.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement creative, seasonal menus that meet client expectations and dietary requirements.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of chefs and kitchen staff to ensure high performance and morale.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating to exacting standards.
• Manage food costs, inventory control, and supplier relationships effectively.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including HACCP.
• Liaise directly with the client to foster a strong working relationship and gather feedback.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef, preferably in contract catering or high-volume establishments.
• Exceptional culinary skills and a passion for developing innovative dishes.
• Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
• Proficiency in financial management, including budget control and P&L understanding.
• Relevant culinary qualifications and certifications.
• Excellent understanding of food safety legislation and best practices in Stoke-on-Trent .
