About the Role

Our client is looking for a creative and dedicated Head Chef to lead the culinary team at their prestigious restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne . This pivotal role involves designing innovative menus, maintaining impeccable kitchen standards, and inspiring a team of chefs to deliver outstanding gastronomic experiences. You will have creative freedom to develop seasonal dishes and specials, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation. The successful candidate will be passionate about fine dining, experienced in managing a busy kitchen, and committed to upholding the highest standards of food hygiene and safety in the heart of Tyne and Wear .

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and cook high-quality dishes across all menu offerings.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the kitchen brigade, ensuring efficient workflow and team morale.
• Develop innovative and appealing menus, including specials, considering seasonal availability and cost.
• Manage kitchen budget, control food costs, and maintain inventory levels.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene regulations in the kitchen.
• Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a reputable establishment.
• Culinary degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Exceptional knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavour profiles.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience in menu costing, budget management, and staff training.
