About the Role
Our client is seeking an inspirational and highly qualified Head Coach to lead their elite Basketball Academy in Leeds . This position requires a deep understanding of basketball strategy, player development, and team dynamics, coupled with the ability to mentor young athletes and foster a positive, disciplined, and high-achieving team environment. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive training programs, scouting and recruiting talented players, and guiding the team towards success in regional and national competitions, while also ensuring the holistic development of student-athletes, including their academic progress and personal growth, contributing significantly to the reputation and success of the academy in Leeds .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic basketball program, including practice planning, game strategy, and player development.
- Recruit and scout talented student-athletes, assessing their skills, character, and academic potential.
- Lead and motivate the coaching staff and players, fostering a culture of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Oversee player academic progress and well-being, liaising with educational institutions as needed.
- Manage the basketball program's budget, equipment, and travel arrangements effectively.
- Represent the academy at various leagues, tournaments, and recruitment events.
Requirements
- Extensive coaching experience at a high level, ideally with a proven track record in youth development or collegiate basketball.
- In-depth knowledge of basketball tactics, offensive and defensive schemes, and player evaluation techniques.
- Strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills to inspire athletes and staff.
- Ability to recruit talent and build a successful program from the ground up.
- A relevant coaching qualification or certification is required.
- Passion for developing young athletes both on and off the court in Leeds .
